Pretty Fabrics' premium faux leather with a weight of 600g/m² is an exceptionally durable, modern, versatile, synthetic, eco-friendly, and polyurethane-coated waterproof polyester material. It strongly resists abrasion and everyday wear and tear. Thanks to its 100% polyester composition and polyurethane coating, it’s an ideal choice for products where both style and moisture resistance are important—such as backpacks, handbags, toiletry bags, and journal covers.
It's important to note that faux leather (also known as eco-leather or vegan leather) is a more elegant and environmentally friendly alternative to other plastic-coated materials as it is reusable and has a long lifespan.
Faux leather is easy to work with using a traditional home sewing machine, depending on the material's thickness. Usually, a straight stitch is sufficient, though a leather needle is recommended, as it is specifically designed to pierce thicker, more resistant materials. Since faux leather doesn’t fray, seam allowances typically don’t need to be finished with a zigzag stitch, although this depends on the type of project.
The material is shipped in half-meter rolls to prevent damage during delivery.
